BALIBEACH Golf Course

The City Golfing Adventure

Any golfers who played on this 9-hole course in the past will remember that it wasn’t exactly a spectacular venue for the game but that has all changed. It is now almost totally unrecognisable. BaliBeach has invested a great deal of time and effort into what they call a ‘face-lift’ but I would describe it as a complete ‘body-lift. Almost everything has changed; drastic landscaping alterations have taken place, lakes have been introduced together with many other features such as newly designed and constructed greens.

BaliBeach is located in Sanur beach, the most famous resort area in Bali.

The tall mature trees have been retained as these are too beautiful to remove; they also enhance the aesthetic appearance of the course while being of great value to the environment and providing a good deal of shade for those golfers who, like mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the mid-day sun! (With acknowledgement to the late Noël Coward)

This is a course that will provide challenges to golfers of all levels of skill but not the absolute beginners – anyone wishing to play will have to have their handicap assessed beforehand and if they don’t come up to standard, they will need to practise on a driving range.

The greens have been carefully designed to provide a good putting surface without severe undulations and the subtle breaks will always keep the players guessing. The greens are also well-bunkered with very little room for errant shots.
As the course is close to the sea, the wind is a factor here and it can influence play on a few holes; especially hole 2, which is a par 3.

The Balibeach Golf Course is well laid out with seven Par 4, one Par 3 and one Par 5, which will give players enough variety and challenge to enjoy a good game of golf.
Those of you who have a higher handicap will always have the option of lying up and staying out of trouble, while the better players need to be sharp and accurate in order to play to handicap.

The Clubhouse of Balibeach Golf Course is a very grand edifice with some excellent facilities and the plan is to make the Golf Course and the clubhouse a ‘One stop entertainment centre’. There will be displays of works of art all along the lobby corridor and for those who want to watch the players in comfort, the large windows of the lobby will afford good views of the course.

The provision of a ‘Pro-Golf’ shop will cater for the needs of players and a business lounge will enable people to keep in touch with their offices and clients. Big Screen, sound system, whiteboard and flip-charts can make this into your ‘second office’ where up to 30 people can be accommodated for a meeting.
The Sector Bar & Restaurant, which will be open from 6, is until 1 am is destined to be the finest restaurant in Sanur. A ‘hanging stage’ is to be incorporated for entertainment such as Disc Jockey and dancers. I don’t know any other golf courses that offer this. Live music also provided by this place such are Salsa Fever every Thursday night and the essence of music with oldies song every Saturday night.
So many different things in one place means that not only can you enjoy a good game of golf but you can also be wined, dined and entertained and still manage to keep up with your work.
